"I go where I wish. Just try and stop me."
Khordek

Khordek's people call themselves "Karkun", which translates as Pariahs. There has never been a name so apt.

These creatures, a head again taller than the average human, with their thick skin and black eyes have no real place they could call home. A large number of them roam the grasslands of Albar and Toril in tribes, among the lower castes of Shen hierarchy. They also have significant enclaves all around the world, all connected by the invisible threads of ancestry. Being percieved as outsiders everywhere forged them into a strong, independent people. Traits that make them command much respect among Nords.

Khordek, as he calls himself, is a free hunter, a sort of pariah among pariahs. He has no tribe he is bound to and roams the lands on his own. It is not considered exile or punishment but a chosen way of life. Every hunter must leave his tribe to see as much of the world as he can. Some choose another clan to return to, some decide to keep travelling. Their experience, should they ever pass it on, is an invaluable treasure.

He met Sedric when the human was still a bandit. He killed a group of refugees who turned out to be assassins after the Black Bear's life. Khordek was mortally wounded and would not have survived the experience if Sedric hadn't helped him. The two became fast friends and comrades in arms. The Karkun never stayed in Lórieth much after its conquest but enjoyed the Lord's hospitality frequently and aided Sedric in several matters in return.

Khordek is fond of the Berrada family, even the hard to like Julien. The young princess Alina considers him almost a family member and Sedric counts him amongst his most loyal friends.

But it is hard to tell what goes on in the Karkun's mind. Many wonder whether he avoids his own people for some other reason than simple freedom but that is a secret Khordek is not likely to share.
